Come along for an all-day adventure on the North Sea, or stay for just a sample. Shipwrights of the North Sea is the game that started it all for Garphill Games 10 years ago. This is the redesigned version of the original, released in 2024 to bring the quality up to "measure up" with the rest of their games. The 2024 version of this game has removed much of the "take that" mechanic from the 2014 edition, and has turned the game into somewhat of a solitaire-type game where players draft 6 cards, and then play the round mostly independent of what other players are doing. While learning the game, we will spend the first 1-2 rounds taking individual turns, but by the last 3-4 rounds, game play can occur simultaneously to help speed the game along. Because of this, we may have time to play twice during the timeslot. Immediately following Shipwrights, the trilogy will continue with Raiders of the North Sea, and Explorers of the North Sea. (Separate tickets required, later time slot.) Publisher Description: Shipwrights of the North Sea: Redux is set in the early years of the Viking Age, circa 800 AD. As Viking shipwrights, players compete to construct the greatest fleet on the North Sea. Players must collect oak, wool, and iron, as well as getting other craftspeople on board to help. Gold is a precious commodity, and must be spent wisely. As you would expect, the township is filled with an array of characters, bad and worse. Better hope they’re on your side!
