Hey James! I won't be able to do one of the 'Make a PC' sessions before this game and I was wondering if it was cool if I made one at home to bring in because I'm playing 3 of these and I thought it'd be more fun to have my own creation instead of a pre-gen. If it *is* cool, are there any rules I should be aware of or would it just be 'follow the most recent corebook rules'? I've played a couple of sessions of Traveller before but haven't made a character before.
Good morning and welcome! I am excited to run Traveller at GHC and look forward to having you at my table. To your questions, you are absolutely welcome to bring your own generated PC to the table if you wish. The only house rule we are running with at the Con is we will not be using psionics at all. We have decided to keep things a little simpler and found that a lot of times psionics can create an imbalance in the game. As far as characters go, you can certainly generate and bring your own, attend one of the character generation events, or use one of the pregenerated characters I will have at the table. I look forward to seeing you at the Con.
