The Great Threshing Debacle

On the cusp of Autumn, Doctor Isabel Wilberforce and her stalwart team of interns have set up a steam powered extravaganza of regional proportions outside of the comely city of Mabel, Minnesota. Amateur inventors have gathered to showcase newfangled steam machinery in their efforts to be chosen to demonstrate their prowess and ingenuity at the New Orleans World’s Fair in December. Before the opening day’s onslaught of speeches have concluded, whispers of sabotage have spun up amidst a spate of breakdowns, missing tools, and even a few slight injuries.
The Midwestern Collegiate Commission – Minnesota Chapter (our Fair sponsors) have hired you to act as part of the “security patrol” for the event. You are expected to observe and report any dodgy or suspicious behavior and to prevent further harm to equipment and attendees. Pressure builds as the chuffery of belching smoke, steam and sound make for a tense investigation.
The alternate title for this scenario is “Oops, all Mad Scientists” where you’ll have your pick from a veritable toolbox of Weird Science aficionados. Play from a pregen mélange that includes a grease monkey, a libationist, a jacksmith, a thaumaturge and others. Your Marshal is a “role play first, roll dice second” GM where fun comes first so expect to toss some bennies. (Oh…and do try to stand clear of the moving parts.)
