Bruttius fought a series of actions over a three-day period near the city of Chaeronea against the joint forces of Pontus and his Greek allies. While outnumbered, over three days of fighting it appears that Bruttius was holding his own – at least until the Spartans and Achaeans turned up to assist the Pontic forces
