A classic Shadowrun 2E adventure published by FASA. A top team goes to Hawai’i to retrieve an extremely valuable prototype from the clutches of a ruthless megacorp and terrorist organziation. Something for everyone in this adventure: combat, vehicles, magic, virtual reality, and perhaps even diplomacy. Run by Ronin Wong, one of the original co-authors.

Hi, this is Ronin ('Tom') Wong. I wrote Paradise Lost - the adventure. Nigel Findley, an extremely prolific RPG writer, was my mentor. He wrote the source notes in the back of the book. Paradise Lost was meant to tie in with Nigel's Shadowrun novel - House of the Sun. Nigel was busy with a lot of other projects so he got me to write the adventure. I sourced Nigel's notes for the novel and drew on my own travels in Hawaii while creating the adventure. We meant this adventure to be an opportunity to get runners away from the gloomy Seattle climate and out into the brilliant sunshine. I made sure there was something for everyone - the runners may engage in car chases, ship battles, and even air combat depending on which direction they go in. I included plenty of magic and virtual reality for extra spice. Both Nigel and I hoped players and GMs would have fun with this one and feel free to tweak or experiment with it. I was just on a reddit thread recently (it's March, 2026) where players were giving each other advice about how to run this adventure. It's rewarding to know that 30 years later, the adventure is still being enjoyed. At the con, I will be running an abridged version of the conclusion of this adventure. Looking forward to seeing a new set of players deal with the challenges of Paradise Lost. See you soon.

I started playing D&D in 1980 with the Holmes Basic Set. I didn't know any other players so I was forced to devise a way to play solo. The next year, I met a group of AD&D players in search of a DM. Impatient to start playing, I convinced them to let me do it, even though I had never seen a group play before. I assumed that I was required to fully play every NPC including supplying voices and mannerisms. My players were surprised at first but gradually we grew to really love this way of playing. For me, it started a lifelong love of tabletop roleplaying. Being a DM released a flood of creativity that might've otherwise remained dormant. I might never have been curious about a career in the arts if it wasn't for my early experiences playing D&D and other role playing games. Eventually, this led to a 30 year career as an actor, musician, composer, writer, and director working in the fields of music, theater, film, and television. (If you're at all curious, my largest part to date was playing a main character on Season 4 of The Sinner on USA Network / Netflix). In the 90s, I wrote a module for Shadowrun 2e - Paradise Lost, published by FASA, and also contributed to the Denver Box Set. I still love playing them - D&D and Shadowrun are my two most commonly played systems but I have enjoyed a number of different RPGs including GURPS, Flashing Blades, Boot Hill and Tunnels and Trolls.
