Baron's Gambit

In the small town of Cat's Cradle, you are summoned before Lord Scale, the town's new baron. He wishes to develop the tiny village of Gambit, located halfway between Cat's Cradle and the town of Five-and-Copper, into a trading post and a fort on the border of his domain. Three of his soldiers, left in Gambit to guard his building supplies, were found dead. Lord Scale wants answers, and he wants Gambit to be safe for his workers and supplies. He offers gold and a plot of land in his new town in exchange for your work. It's an offer you can't refuse, seeing as it's unwise to refuse the offers of people who own their own prisons!
