Gilraen, the Ranger Queen, did not fret at home during the dark days before the War of the Ring. She planned, she recruited, and she led companies of the Dunedain, operating (with Elrond’s leave) out of the Vale of Imladris. This is the tale of one of those companies, tasked with a dark mission into the unknown, whose success would lead to the return of their King.
