It’s 1813. You are amateur folklorists working as agents of the Crown. Across Britain, the folk ballads of the common people are coming to life. A half-built estate near the ruins of Melrose Abbey is playing out a tragic song about an infanticidal mason seeking revenge for unpaid work. Enchanted victims take on the roles of characters in “Lamkin,” forced to act out the ballad’s unhappy events. Imagery and danger from the song manifest supernaturally. Can you decipher the clues in the song and save the workers at the estate?
