Matt Forbeck’s game design career spans four decades, making him not only one of the most talented TTRPG designers around but also the art form’s most experienced creators. It’s a common saying in tabletop gaming to never quit your day job. Matt has turned that saying on its head, having made game design and writing his sole profession for almost his entire professional life. In this in-depth conversation, we’ll hear Matt’s take on how TTRPGs have changed over the years, the lessons he's learned, the ones he has had to relearn as times have changed, and where he thinks the art form is heading. If you have any interest in making gaming into your career, this is a talk that you cannot afford to miss.
