Arriving late to D&D&D

The description for D&D&D says "Stay for all 4 hours or just stop in for a little while." Does this mean that we can pop in, say, 1 hour after it starts? We have a conflict during the beginning of the time slot, and are curious about just how flexible this game is.

I have it under very good authority (because I asked him) that it is absolutely ok for you to show up late and still jump right into the game.
